Muffins for Granny

McLaren, Nadia. (Added Author). Feather Productions (Added Author).

Summary: In the late 1880's the government of Canada imposed a policy of assimilation that required every First Nation's child be placed in Residential Schools. Nadia McLaren, a First Nations artist, travels to her Ojibway home in the Canadian Shield north of Lake Superior to interview seven Elders who lived through this dark chapter in Canadian history. They share with us their stories of personal and cultural survival with the hope that it may somehow begin the healing this country and its people desperately need. 8mm family footage is included in the documentary
